Dikembe

One of our favorite bands, Dikembe, are announcing tour dates with a bunch of other awesome bands: Hot Water Music, Expert Timing, Dowsing, Pictures of Vernon, d'arcy, and Slingshot Dakota!

Throughout the year, one of our absolute favorite emo/punk bands, Dikembe, have been covering a series of classic tracks. For their 7th cover in the series, they cover Nirvana's track "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle".

Premiering the newest track in Dikembe's cover series, "Two Zero Two" originally by Northstar.

Excited to be premiering the newest track in Dikembe's ongoing monthly cover series in which they cover sweet tracks with the assistance of cool people from other awesome bands. This month, they are covering 'Prayer to God' originally by Shellac with vocals from Braid's Bob Nanna.

Florida's Dikembe plan to release a different cover song for every month of 2017. Superdrag's 1996 hit 'Sucked Out' is the first of the series featuring vocals from Carly of Slingshot Dakota.

We are excited to be premiering a brand new Dikembe live session of the track 'Earth Around Me' from their LP Hail Something which came out earlier this year on their own Death Protector label.

Dikembe are self-releasing their album on their brand new label, Death Protector, providing the freedom and creative control that obviously meant more to them than playing it safe, and it show's in the music. Hail Something is a record that works through life and genres to create a true place of honesty where you can figure out you are something worthy of hailing.

Ryan of Dikembe took the time out of his busy life to answer some questions about their new LP Mediumship, the Florida music scene, Magic The Gathering and other stuffs. A slow pulse kicks of Mediumship, the new album by Dikembe. A scratchy almost whispered voice weaves around the pulse, breaking up and down in a disheartened scale. 'Even Bother' eventually finds itself in a dynamic war between the somber melody and an even more subdued mood. That is the mood of this whole record, trying to battle that particular dynamic of keeping somber even under the thick weight of emotions.
