Video Premiere: Dosser – “Dark Air”

Dosser’s been making a splash in the grungegaze scene over the past year or so. Last year’s Brainscan was a great first EP, and the singles they’ve been dropping since have been killer, and they’ve just come home from a tour supporting Pianos Become the Teeth. The Maryland foursome’s ready to capitalize on all that energy now: they’ve just announced their debut full-length, Violent Picture / Violent Sound, which will drop late next month.

Accompanying that announcement is a third single. It’s called “Dark Air,” and it shows off a slightly more restrained side of the band, one that allows things to marinate a bit more before releasing all that tension. It could very well be the best of the singles yet, and we’re excited to premiere the track’s video today. Bret Lanahan shares that

This song is about a handful of close friends that passed away or took their own life when I was younger. I wrote some of the lyrics a long time ago but could never put them in a song. The older I get the more I think about them. I see them more in my dreams now than I ever used to. The dreams are mostly happy and we’re all friends again but even in the dream I’m still aware that this can’t be real. Its a lot of self reflection and wondering if there was anything I could have done to help. It’s probably the heaviest song on the album for me but I enjoy playing it because it reminds me of old friends I haven’t seen in a long time.

Check out the video for “Dark Air” below.

Violent Picture / Violent Sound is out January 20th on Really Rad Records.
