Video Premiere: Schmave — ‘Sopranos’

Posted: by The Alt Editing Staff

New Paltz-based indie rockers Schmave blend together the anxious sound of 90’s indie rock with the groove and discipline of jazz for a truly unique sound. Today we’re stoked to be premiering the music video for “Sopranos,” taken from the band’s 2019 release We’re Rowboat People. The video, which was directed by Sabella Kahn, details a couple stuck together at home whose memories are displayed before them in the ordinary things around them such as windows, books, mirrors, and water. It’s a story about two people wanting to return to the past before coming to the realization that they’d rather stay in the present with each other’s company. It’s an extremely heartfelt video that echoes how many of us have felt at one point or another during quarantine, and the nostalgic quality to it pairs well with Schmave’s cozy sound.
