MIGHTY kicked off 2021 with an intriguing EP, You Deal With the Trash. The release came from what was initially meant to be a full-length release until the band and producer Dan Gleason (of Grouplove) hit a creative standstill. Far from sounding disjointed, the resulting push-and-pull is a creative mix of polish and grit as the band works with a range of dynamics and musical attacks.

The EP’s lead track, “Red Wrapped Thread,” is a great encapsulation of this sound. Frontman Angelo Fiaretti’s biting couplets are cut with musical call and responses of synths, guitar, and auxiliary percussion. Today, the band is premiering their new video of “Red Wrapped Thread.” It features the group out of the city, working on an old car and rocking out. It’s a classic video vibe that works well with the rootsy feel of the song.

You can listen to the rest of the record on Bandcamp.
