Video Premiere: Go Outside – “Lighters”
Posted: by admin
While on their first tour this past summer, Arizona indie punk band Go Outside got recording, and cooked up a music video for their track, “Lighters”, off the EP they released on Pacific Nature Records last May. We’re excited to be premiering that video for you now.
This video was filmed and edited by drummer Craig Johnson. He had this to say about the video:
“When you live in a truck with four other dudes for 20 days, you’ll use any excuse to get out for a few minutes. Shooting a music video was as good an excuse as any. As we toured up the west coast and back, I was always on the hunt for scenic and obscure locations. We filmed my drumming shots first. It was beyond satisfying to subject the unwilling residents of a ritzy San Francisco neighborhood to sound of my trashy drum set. The shots of guitar and bass were easier, but I always promised it would only take five minutes and 20 minutes later we were still filming in a rest stop bathroom and I was asking for one more take with more headbanging. We mixed these shots with shots from my camcorder to tell the story of our first tour as a band. The only part not filmed on tour were the stage shots, shot on a stage at our university that we may or may not have broken into in the middle of the night. Whatever it takes right?”
The band is currently recording their debut album. You can listen to the rest of the EP on Go Outside’s Bandcamp.
