Philadelphia’s Weller is made up of Harrison Nantz (vocals, guitar) and Jeremy Berkin (drums). Their melodic indie rock has grown from prior EPs and on their new self-titled debut LP, which is out this Friday, the band is the most complete and polished version of itself. Today we’re premiering the 3rd single “Standard”.
“‘Standard’ came together from a few older melodic ideas I held onto that I simply couldn’t sort out correctly. Through tabling those ideas, I felt comfort in revisiting them as I rather suddenly developed an arrangement that helped create space for some of the major lyrical themes that drive the record – loss, growth, trust. I hope that comfort is passed along to the listener.” – Harrison
