Brooklyn indie rockers Personal Space are gearing up to release their sophomore LP A Lifetime of Leisure on March 26 via Good Eye Records. The band has already shared two songs from their upcoming album, “Supine (And Feelin’ Fine)” and “Grateful For The Firm,” and today we’re stoked to be premiering the record’s third single “Overture” which the band describes as “A more personal song about a reservedly pursued courtship, where you’re not quite sure whether it’s the right thing to do, and where the right moment to express your true feelings keeps getting derailed by bougie small talk.” Blending together wispy guitar lines and languid rhythms with ecstatic drumming , “Overture” is math rock at it’s drowsiest, the sound of a band chugging a whole bottle of NyQuil before playing a house show. Even when Personal Space are at their most laid-back and carefree there’s always something else bubbling right underneath the surface and that tension is what makes their music so damn exhilarating.
