Track Premiere: Origami Angel – “effective. Power”

Posted: by admin

Origami Angel’s last EP, Quiet Hours, was the first release from meme-tastic DIY label Chatterbot Records, and now they’ve teamed up once again and are back for more. As the label has grown over the past year, so has the band, and their new EP Doing The Most is easily their most ambitious (sonically, lyrically, and promotionally).

But before you encounter any of Orgami and Chatterbots, zany infomercials and music videos in the coming weeks, let’s talk about the music. The duo consists of Ryland Heagy (vox, guitar) and Pat Doherty (drums). Their lyrics traverse the traditional emo/indie battleground of internal struggles, self-improvement, and life’s challenges along with winding instrumentals that bring to mind emo staples: The Starting Line, Cartel, You Blew It!, and Tiny Moving Parts, depending on your entrance into the emo scene

The first single “effective. Power” demonstrates that musical quality. As Ryland screams out “I can’t be the only one. I can’t be alone.“, the song is instantly relateable, and when the mini breakdown approaches you will be ready to start a pit and jump around wherever you are. Take a listen to “effective. Power” below.
