Track Premiere: Hora Douse – “Balloons”

Posted: by The Editor

Manchester indie-rock trio, Hora Douse, mix post-hardcore technicalities effortlessly with classic emo revival tones. We are pleased to be premiering the band’s newest single, “Balloons”. Recorded by producer, Bob Cooper (Citizen, Self Defense Family, Nai Harvest, and more), the track discusses what it feels like to be at war with oneself. With upbeat electric melodies and paced twinkly accents, “Balloons” is a resounding display of what the group has to offer.

After meeting as teens, the three friends (vocalist/guitarist, Tom Lee, bassist, Jonny Russell, and drummer, Reece Gibson) grew into the scene together. As a relatively new group, they’ve played with notable acts such as, The Hotelier, Milk Teeth, and more. Maturing their sound over the years, “Balloons” is a single that represents growth while still remaining true to what the group is known for: discussing mental health unfiltered and unapologetically. Resultantly, the track sonically reflects the ups and downs of battling mental illness.

Hora Douse will be touring the UK with Mobina Galore later this month. They will be offering a limited tour cassette with the help of Rose Coloured Records at each date. Stream the track and check out our exclusive video with the band below.
