Track Premiere: Gnawing – “You Freak Me Out”
Posted: by The Alt Editing Staff
So far, Gnawing’s two singles have shown off distinctly different sides of the band. “So Glad” is a fuzzy and driving ’90s flavored rocker, while “Blue Moon New” is a bit more layered, with steel guitar giving it an almost country feel. The band’s latest single, the title track from their upcoming You Freak Me Out, takes after the former.
“You Freak Me Out” is immediately Gnawing’s catchiest, most gripping song. It feels equal parts Pavement and early Green Day but in a way that’s clearly Gnawing’s own. Now that I’ve not doubt gotten you sufficiently hyped, check out the single below.
You Freak Me Out is out July 9 via Refresh Records.
