Track Premiere: Fresh – “New Girl”

Posted: by The Editor

“Woke up last night / with tears in my eyes because I am fundamentally unloveable” sings Kathryn Woods on the London based group’s latest track, “New Girl”.  Much like the other tracks off the upcoming record, Withdraw, due out June 7, Woods’ writing is like reading a diary – an uncensored stream of consciousness as she wades through her feelings, and those words are backed by upbeat instrumentals that swell throughout the song.

In the two years since their debut full length, the band has grown to be more confident with their art. As Woods shares, “I want other young women, maybe young women who are queer, to feel more of this confidence and less fear around how they make art.Ultimately we do this because we love it. It’s for the sense of community and the fun.”

You can catch the band throughout the UK this weekend playing Ladyfuzz Festival and Handmade Festival and in July opening for Slingshot Dakota. They’ll be making their first trip to the US in the fall to play Fest in Gainesville. You can preorder the record here.

Upcoming tour dates:

4th May – Ladyfuzz Fest, Brighton
5th May – Handmade Festival, Leiceste
