Track Premiere: Binary “The Thrill That Can Kill”

Posted: by The Alt Editing Staff

Binary are no strangers to the screamo scene. In fact, last years full length Commit More Arson garnered most of its appeal from the niche scene they grew up in. But now, they’re stepping into new territory with Say Your Prayers No One Cares, due out September 6th through Pattern Recognition and Convulse Records.

“The Thrill That Can Kill”, the first single off the upcoming EP, shows Binary branching out and becoming more familiar with metalcore tendencies. Binary’s vocalist Jordan S. said of the song, “…is about self destructing in response to love lost, I think it shows our sonic growth as a band that used to play screamo, we’re stepping into heavier territory with this release as a whole, taking influence from bands that played fifteen years ago as opposed to bands that played twenty five years ago. We’re having a lot of fun in doing so.”

Wherever this new era takes them, we can’t wait. Fans of Heavy Heavy Low Low, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and The Blood Brothers will find solace and familiarity in these new songs, but added to it the youthful fervor of a group of kids putting their all into the songs with unforgiving intensity.

In addition to their show Sunday 8.18 in Philadelphia with Frail Body and Marée Noire (RSVP here), Binary will also be embarking on a yet to be announced weekender in support of the EP early next month.
