The Alt Weekly Roundup (9/22/18)
Posted: by admin
The Alt Weekly Roundup is just what it sounds like, a recap of a few of our favorite releases of the week. Think of it as an appetizer for our Best of the Month article/playlist. Here’s a taste of a few of gems from this week.
Fire is Motion – Audiotree session
Fire is Motion shared a dreamy Audiotree session this week, with live versions of tracks from their Still, I Try EP and their Days 1-7 from Bandcamp. The session includes an upbeat rendition of “Ringside” that’s a fun, urgent take almost as great as the original.
The Spirit of the Beehive – Hypnic Jerks
Philly group, The Spirit of the Beehive dropped an album titled Hypnic Jerks last week, but it’s one of those albums that grows on you over time — a dreamy, psychedelic collection of ten tracks.
Joyce Manor – Million Dollars to Kill Me
I’ve never met a Joyce Manor track I didn’t like, and their new record Million Dollars to Kill Me is no exception. Favorites include “Silly Games” and “Friends We Met Online.”
Bad Moves – Tell No One
DC power pop outfit, Bad Moves burst into the scene this week with their awesome debut LP, Tell No One. Don’t sleep on this band.
