Album Premiere: What’s Missing – ‘Shortly Thereafter’ EP

The new EP from What’s Missing sounds like a combination of the respective bands of the two people who produced this project; Mat Kerekes of Citizen and Brian Spragg a past producer of Rozwell Kid. The West Virginia four-piece churn out grungy, raspy pop-punk that’s been put through the washer with a heap of early Basement. These tracks are dark, wintery takes on a traditionally upbeat genre, though they sometimes break into bouncy or headbang-worthy sections that briefly knock them out of their funk.
