Song Premiere: Tiny Voices – “Minnesota? Wild.”

Posted: by The Editor

Wisconsin’s Tiny Voices burst onto the emo scene in January ’21 with the two-song Airports / Reaper single, and further refined their sound with their EP Where the Time Went that October. It showed off the emo style that Thumbs Up labelmates Ben Quad and Guitar Fight from Fooly Cooly have earned success with, a familiar blend of math and post-hardcore that fit the band like a well-worn sweater.

They’ve taken a leap on Make Up Your Place, the band’s new EP out on April 20th, and shaken up their sound with a healthy dose of gruff punk rock influence. On “Minnesota? Wild.,” the first single, Tiny Voices lands somewhere between Ben Quad and Hot Water Music. It’s a perfect midpoint between where they’ve been and where they’re going, and you can stream it exclusively below.

Tiny Voices notes, “‘Minnesota? Wild.’ was the first song we wrote for Make Up Your Place. When we finished it, we could really see the growth from where we were with our last release to now, and it’s been awesome preparing for this EP. We’re excited to show everyone how far we’ve come.” Check it out.

Make Up Your Place will be out April 20th on Thumbs Up Records.
