Premiere: Morning Eagle – “Star”

Morning Eagle are set to release their debut album Cloud Noise next month through Setterwind Records. The alternative rock project from Nicholas May has previously released a string of singles and EPs since 2021 with some of their strongest songs to date emerging last year. From the adrenaline-fueled “Basejumper” to the brooding “Human2” and hook driven “Chain,” the Long Beach-based band has been busy cultivating their own brand of heady alternative rock.
On their new single “Star” they pick up where they left off and combine captivating vocal melodies from collaborator Rahiim with rapid, distorted riffs that colors their nostalgic forceful alt rock with a gritty intensity and we’re excited to bring you the exclusive premiere. May shares:
“Star” came together in the final stretch of working on Cloud Noise. I’d hit a wall creatively and stepped away from the project for a couple months. When I finally picked up a guitar again, the riff in the chorus was the first thing that came out. It felt immediate—like it had been waiting there once I let my guard down and stopped overthinking the structure.
