Song Premiere: Lightweight – “Uncertain Marigold”

Sacramento pop-punk band Lightweight is getting ready to release their new EP, The Next One’s on You, which features four brand new tracks, one of them being their new single “Uncertain Marigold.” “We face a lot of obstacles in life that get in the way of a lot of things, it could be a goal you’re moving towards, or a change you wanna make in the world or yourself,” says the band of the single. “‘Uncertain Marigold’ is about when the biggest obstacle of all has been staring at you in the mirror, when the rubber meets the road and you have to accept that it was you who held you back.”

While The Next One’s on You follows the releases of This One’s on Me (March 2022) and You Have to Promise (September 2022). When combined, the EPs become a stealth full-length that addresses the topics of modern life, modern friendships, and the ability to grow and change as a person. Lightweight consists of lifelong friends who’ve been through everything together, from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows and every inch in between.
