We are pleased to premiere “Halfway” by Laughed The Boy. The trudging pace blossoms with an eerie guitar lead, helping the track’s atmosphere feel dream-like. The hazy vocals dig into the sonic presence, floating with the easy going pace. The song is a winding staircase that has left my mind in a constant whirl of music. Take a listen below and stay tuned for more from Laughed The Boy!

“After a few recording sessions of demoing new material, the idea for ‘Halfway’ came to me one morning and I sat there playing it over and over until it felt ready enough to play as a band. Sean and I went to the studio, jammed it a couple times and recorded it the same day. The general concept came from jotting down random thoughts I had at work one day.” – Songwriter, Chris Panacci

Laughed the Boy began as an outlet for honest and unpretentious 90’s nostalgia inspired songs. After splitting time between writing songs intended for video games and his own solo material, he decided to combine the two into one project when he went into the studio with his brother Sean to record their EP Out of the Blue. The band’s catchy melodies and fuzzy guitar playing drew comparisons to artists such as Weezer, Sloan, and Pavement. The two brothers added bass player Brennan Hrehoruk to the lineup and began playing the songs live. While rehearsing for shows, the trio ended up with an album’s worth of fresh material and headed into the studio once again to record their debut full length LP Here is Fine released last February. 2018 will be a busy year for Laughed the Boy as they will continue touring and recording their sophomore album.
