Song Premiere: Derek Christensen – “Hell in July”

Easycore is big in a big way. Bands like Origami Angel, Action/Adventure, and Meet Me @ the Altar are bringing the genre back and making it more serious, more fun, and more powerful than ever before. Salt Lake City native Derek Christensen’s name isn’t quite as big as the other three, but here’s hoping that’ll change soon. He’s got a great sound, as heavy as this sound can get and as bouncy, as summery, and as infectious as the biggest pop song imaginable. His newest single, “Hell in July,” exclusively premiering here, is the best introduction to his sound, demonstrating Christensen at his very best.
