Track Premiere: King Shelter – “Pick Your Poison”

King Shelter

The Alternative is pleased to premiere the rocking track “Pick Your Poison” from King Shelter! The song starts off with a crescendo of instruments that leads to a snapping, infectious refrain that is a bit dizzying with the guitars winding behind the rhythm. The song’s middle section with a powerful guitar riff and booming drums. All in all, “Pick Your Poison” is a full fledged rock song with plenty of gripping and soaring instrumentation.

King Shelter are gearing to release their full length record, $hame, on March 30th via Broken Entertainment, and this track is an exciting glimpse at the ruckus driven grit that the band will release.

“‘Pick Your Poison’ is a contemplation between genuine happiness and social expectations.” – King Shelter

In 2014, Taylor Hecocks formed King Shelter in La Mirada, CA while studying music at university with the band’s lead guitarist, David Noble, and bassist, John Harzan. King Shelter kicked off by playing local shows around Orange County for friends and local music fans after they self-released a DIY album, the Failure EP, that Hecocks produced and engineered. King Shelter went from playing backyards before the release, to selling out headlining gigs across California after it. Building off this success, the band is set to release their debut album, $hame, in early 2018.
