EP Premeire: Panoramic – ‘Paper Bag & Demos’

After putting out their debut album last summer touring furiously throughout the west, Panoramic is back with a new EP featuring their new single “Paper Bag” as well as four other demos.
The title track, “Paper Bag,” finds Panoramic experimenting with new sonic textures, and new orchestration. The band has shed some of its pop punk roots in favor of more mature arrangements and a more complex sonic palette. The familiar harmonies, pianos and acoustic guitars are still there, but “Paper Bag” shows the band moving in a new direction as they prepare for their next album.
Listening to the 4 demos, one can hear the songwriting of Alex Vercnocke developing as he expands his chordal choices and abandons pop punk for earnest bedroom pop. Despite their lo-fi nature, the songs give Panoramic a chance to dabble with instrumental arrangements, tight harmonies and home recordings- the four demos were recorded by the band themselves on phones and in garageband.
Panomaric’s new EP, “Paper Bag and Demos” comes out digitally, today, May 23rd, via Bandcamp, Spotify, and other major streaming platforms.
