Brooklyn’s Answering Machine has released a new track, “Color TV” that brightens verbal jabbing with classic, vibrant references. The title track single comes from their upcoming EP, Color TV, out October 19.

Pretentiousness and large vocabulary mean nothing when it’s time to figure out who to take home. The simple things are a draw – from the details of a Ford to a modern television. It’s time traveling storytelling, eliciting a retro fondness while settling into a modern tone.

The song is as enticing as it is catchy, and does it count as drinking alone if it’s with Answering Machine in the background? Their single swells into a space with anthemic warmth.

The Color TV EP was recorded at Mollusk Studios with John Meredith, marking the band’s second EP release. Keep an eye out for the release on Bandcamp.
