I am beyond happy to premiere this music video. For one, Weller is a great band. They played my Bernie Sanders Fest and killed it. ‘Record Breaker’ is my favorite track off their new EP, Career Fair, which you can listen to on Bandcamp or grab on CD or tape over at Honest Face Records. But even better this music video was directed and filmed by our very own Emily Dubin. I know right?? She’ crazy talented. Watch the video below and then check out a word with the band and director.
Wasn’t that a sweet music video? As a fan of music videos and film in general, I had to ask Emily what it was like to direct her first music video: As a director it was a really incredible experience to create my first project with my best friends. It’s nerve-racking to work so hard on your first creative project and send it out into the world, but doing my first music video at the same as their first release, it was fun to kind of be new at this whole thing together and start this ride together. – Emily Dubin
But this isn’t just about the music video! That song was sweet. Listen to Career Fair!
It was, in the simplest way possible, an absolute blast putting these songs together. The chemistry this band has both in and outside of the studio certainly contributed to the upbeat energy you hear on Career Fair. We’re all very excited and proud of what we’ve created. – Harrison Nantz, singer and guitarist of Weller
