Jacob Sigman – “Mademoiselle”
Posted: by Riley
Rising Ann Arbor pop musician Jacob Sigman just dropped his sugary new single “Mademoiselle,” and it’s a doozy. Produced by disco DJ cohort Rollergirl, the track decidedly enters poppier territory; it spins bubblegum synths and glitzy “chk-ahhh” sound-bytes into the year’s dreamiest earworm. Unlike Sigman’s 2015 EP Living Room, “Mademoiselle” lies closer to the undeniable smash-hit “Call Me Maybe” than it does any Beatles song. In fact, like Carly Rae Jepsen, Jacob’s newest is the kind of guilty pleasure pop you shouldn’t feel bad about liking. Listen to it here.
Jacob Sigman plays tomorrow night at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor with Flint Eastwood and Marcus Alan Ward. He will have lathe cut vinyl copies of the single for sale there.
