The Ground Is Lava. Wait, am I reading that right? Is that band not broken up? Well, yes but that does not change their impact or legacy. Their spirit was unmatched in the indie/emo scene during their time as a band. Their charm was noted and talked about extensively. Whatever, Man is their final send off however. It’s the final tie of all the loose ends of the Ohio trio.  All of their music is pay what you want on their bandcamp, go relive or rediscover this band.

The EP is called Whatever, Man. These songs were recorded right around the time of our breakup by our friend and longtime collaborator Chris Mack. Due to laziness and factors totally in our control it took a year for them to be ready to be released. “Night Time Hell Drive” was written at the tail end of the writing sessions for Bottle Rockets but we couldn’t finish it in time for that album. It was inspired by an impossibly long drive we took from Amarillo, TX, to Scottsdale, AZ, on our tour in Summer 2012. “We Need Time For Some Things To Happen” was written in the last few months of our existence and is inspired by life and growing up and moving on and shit like that. The title is also a Troll 2 reference. The artwork was created by our friend Mary Kekic. marykekic.tumblr.com – Eric
