New Mayans – ‘Universe’ Single Premiere

New Mayans is the brainchild of a Saint Louis street kid, Swiggy. He recently found others in the same mind frame to create the sonically delicious group. Now that the edges have been rounded out, the finished product of their musical composing has resulted in the song ‘Universe.’ A expertly crafted atmosphere helps give this song more of a last impact, with bubbly synthesizers ominously floating in the background. The guitars are reflective, matching the mood being established with the lyrics. New Mayans has a modernized David Bowie appeal with the composition style that wouldn’t sound too far off of an Arcade Fire release. Check out the single below, streaming here at The Alternative.
