Single Premiere: “Lost On The Road Again” – Ben Stalets
Posted: by Riley
On Country Midwestern, the new EP from Toledo’s Ben Stalets, we get a genuinely interesting and diverse collection of folk-flavored tunes. In just four tracks, Stalets covers some serious ground. Beyond the somewhat obvious Bob Dylan influence, we get tastes of Omaha’s Saddle Creek scene and a bit of California sunshine here and there as well. The rising singer-songwriter’s new single is called “Lost On The Road Again;” it’s classic open-road folk rock, complete with a string section, tambourines, and a whistling solo (not to mention the line “out of my mind in a chevrolet”). I’d say the breezy track is a stand-out, but every song on Country Midwestern offers something distinctly engaging. Give it a listen below.
