Track Premiere: Virginity—”Bad Call”

Posted: by The Editor

It seems like everyday’s a bad one lately, and Florida’s Virginity knows all about that. The pop-punk three-piece’s newest single, “Bad Call,” was written when frontman Casey Crawford was sick but couldn’t afford a trip to the doctor. The song’s taken on a bit of a new life in the midst of the pandemic, as Crawford says: “I feel like the whole world feels anxious right now and like they themselves might have a bad call coming.”

“Bad Call” itself has a sort of anxious tension to it that was absent from the band’s previous material, and it all bubbles up into an aggressive bridge. It’s a heavier song than just about anything off the band’s 2019 debut With Time, but it’s a natural sound for them. It’s from an EP called Death to the Party that’s out 6/5, but you can watch the music video for it below:

Death to the Party is out 6/5 via Wiretap Records.
