Track Premiere: The NOODS – “Come Over”

Posted: by admin

The Brooklyn based indie pop darlings Noods have released a charity cover of The Internet’s “Come Over” available today on Bandcamp. All proceeds on the band’s end will be donated to the Arts Administrators of Color Network’s emergency fund. From midnight PST today Friday 6/19, till midnight PST tomorrow, 6/20 , is donating their cut of all sales to the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund.

Noods’  cover captures the originals’ relaxed, slinky nature, but manages to add some wonderfully New York grunge in their guitar work.  Lead vocalist Trish Dieudonne’s performance ties the track together, taking on the siren-like qualities of The Internet’s Syd, and packing in even more soul. While “Come Over” is on its face, a song about a booty call, Noods re-contextualizes it. Rather than coming over to hook up, they just want to be able to tell their friends to come over again. Some Zoom-specific spoken bits bookend the track, adding to the relatability.

Take a listen to the track below.
