Track Premiere: Brackish – “Sincerely”

Posted: by admin

Philadelphia punk quartet, Brackish is set to release their forthcoming EP, Worlds on June 8th. We are excited to premiere its debut track, “Sincerely”. Originally written in 2009 by vocalist, Connor Byrne, the band is excited to finally let the song see the light of day.

After releasing their emotional EP, Coming Down, last summer as a tribute to their late guitarist, Chris Baranowski, the band began to make a significant mark within the Philly DIY scene. Their new lineup includes Byrne’s lifelong friends, Tim Fitzpatick and Zach Miller. Recorded by Andy Clark and Tom May at Retro City Studies, Worlds is a thrilling EP centering around unique narratives. A culmination of demanding guitar work, buoyant drum patterns, and passionate confessionals, the track forces your attention.

Byrne explained, “The song is written from the perspective of a planet that just became aware that it is dying and feels taken for granted now that it’s days are numbered. The lyrics are the inner-dialogue the planet is having around what it does to provide and facilitate its inhabitants only to be met with disregard and indifference which is terribly frustrating, especially when you know your time is limited.

Self released, in collaboration with Good Sadie Media, and set to tour this summer with the flourishing awakebutstillinbed, they are a band to keep an eye on. Make sure to catch them on tour (posters below) and cop an exclusive handmade copy of the EP.
