Track Premiere: All Get Out – “First Contact”

Posted: by The Editor

Last year, All Get Out released No Bouquet, an LP full of strong hook’s and immersive lyrics that centered around the band’s signature guitar driven sound. The band’s new EP, Northport Sessions, which comes out June 14 on Equal Vision Records, features four stripped down version of songs off that LP and a brand new song, Northport.

On this new version of “First Contact”, the band trades guitars for a piano that carries the song and is paired with quiet vocals and soft drums. It gives listeners a glimpse into their creative process and a side of the band that isn’t usually front and center.

All the songs were put together remotely as lead singer and guitarist Nathan Hussey was moving to Northport, Alabama and the band was not able to see each other in person during the process. As the band’s guitarist, Kyle Samuel, states, “We were all transitioning in our personal lives to some extent, especially with the time off, and the EP provided a creative grounding for experimentation as well as a process for us to explore sounds that we hadn’t been able to in the past.”
