Next month, Cave People will be releasing their sophomore album Looking through Disposable America (cassette) and Stereophonodon Records (vinyl). In honor of their late bandmate, Spenser Spirit Hogan, all proceeds from the album will be donated (in Hogan’s name) to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Cave People is the musical endeavour of Dave Tomaine, but Looking features help from various friends and Philadelphia based artists like Sean Hallock (Rozwell Kid), Kian Sorouri (Loose Tooth), and more. Looking is about reconciling past mistakes, and retroactively making an effort to piece together a brighter, more sincere future.

So far, Cave People have shared two introspective singles, “Guilt” and “Are You Looking” (a re-release from their Salt EP). Today, we are premiering their third single, “Nothing At All”. According to Tomaine, “Nothing At All” is about, “working towards things that don’t work out. It’s mostly a rant about being stuck in patterns, as well as the half measures you take to break those patterns only to find yourself in them again.”

It’s a warm, upbeat summer jam to say the least. With sweltering melodies and buzzing guitar it begs to played as loudly as possible. Whether you’re taking your weekly quarantine shower or power walking through the grocery store, “Nothing At All” is an idyllic earworm.

Looking is now available for pre-order. It will be out through Disposable America and Stereophonodon Records on August 28.
