Video Premiere: TV COMA – “Have A Party”

Posted: by admin

TV COMA is a self-hating millennial rock band from St. Albans, Hertfordshire. With influence driven from Weezer and Jeff Rosenstock, the song-writing siblings Leo and Max Troy join forces with drum whiz Robert Clark and bassist Jamie Rider to pump out power pop earworms.

While the song opens up with a catchy 60’s balladic melody, the video itself is reminiscent of the 90’s, sing-a-long ball and all. In the pre-chorus, the band is caught saying “Nobody’s excited, but everyone’s invited.”  Initially this may sound like no one wants to attend whatever party the group is throwing, however after interviewing one of the singers, Max Troy, himself, he said

“Have A Party was inspired by some absolute legends in Batchwood nightclub grinding up and down each other making grunting noises to DJ Fresh. It’s a plaintive yet celebratory singalong about how we might look happy on the outside but on the inside we are all so dead.”

While it still may be true that no one wants to party with TV COMA, it is clear that they don’t even care. They barely even wish the party was being thrown itself, they just simply don’t want to be alone. But who does?  TV COMA is for the fun and wicked, yet also for the depressed and sleepy. TV COMA’s debut EP Body Negativity comes out May 31st via Wiretap Records.
