Straight to the point, full of a charming grit and winding instrumentals is the new single by Subways on the Sun. “Tongues” takes this raw sound and applies a distinct, lighter vocal approach to blend a beautiful musical dichotomy together. Each melody finds a place to land, fluidly aligning to the band’s tight structures.

“This song was all about exploring new ideas and musical direction for the band. The opening guitar line idea came as I was driving to the studio to work on something completely different. But we decided to give it a shot, and quickly started layering all these parts and the song came together fast. The single lyric line started out as a placeholder to build from, but ultimately felt like the perfect statement to complement the music.”
