Video Premiere: Save Face Mango Session
Posted: by The Editor
Last year the New Jersey emo/pop-punk band Save Face released the Folly EP via Take This To Heart Records (Swordfish, Fossil Youth, Dead Leaves). The six songs featured frenetic noodling, yelly yet melodic vocals and crunchy riffs that recalled the likes of Prince Daddy & the Hyena, Oso Oso and Remo Drive. However, singer/songwriter Tyler Povanda stopped by Pacific Nature TV to record an intimate, acoustic Mango Session of some of those tracks. Aside from the swaying closer “Folly,” it’s a completely different vibe from what’s on the EP, but Povanda’s able to translate those high-energy bangers into warm, hushed numbers and still do them justice.
