Video Premiere: Happy – “Drowners”

Premiering the video for “Drowners” off of South Carolina band Happy’s debut album Sundaze. The album was recorded, mixed and engineered by Will Pugh of Cartel, and mastered by Cameron Boucher of Sorority Noise, and in this case, that combination actually describes Happy’s sound pretty well. Check out the video and some words from the band below:

Happy are a proud queer band, and spoke in their Gold Flake Paint premiere of this song about the importance of queer representation in all genres of music. “We had so few queer bands accessible to listen to growing up, and even the ones we did have often focused on heavier material, which is incredible and definitely needed, however we want to offer a younger generation a brand of more innocent, nostalgic, light-hearted music that caters to their experiences, yet can also reach a wider audience at the same time.
