Track Premiere: Same – “Cemetery”

Posted: by admin

Pittsburgh’s Same have long been one of the bands I’ve been most interested in. I first heard of them when I met vocalist Jake Stern at FEST 2 years ago, (he was playing keyboard for Prince Daddy & The Hyena at the time). On the hungover flight home, I gave their Bandcamp a skim, and got hooked on their debut EP Weird As Hell. It had that post-weezercore emo vibe that I love, that next-gen emo vocal style,  and hooky songwriting. The kind of music where you can get lost in your feelings and the guitar tones. Since then I’ve been waiting for the followup.

I got my first taste in Spring of this year when they released the single “Is Midnight”, but this Fall we will be getting the true followup via a 7″ on Head2Wall Records titled, Forgot To Say ‘Action’. Very excited to be premiering the first track from that record today. It brings forward the exact things I enjoyed about their debut, but you can also tell that they’ve matured and begun to experiment a bit in their songwriting formulas. Can’t wait to hear the rest. Take a listen to “Cemetery” below.
