Nightmarathons, a punk rock band featuring Chris Stowe of A-F Records and White Wives, is releasing a new record, and we’re premiering the first single today!

Chris was actually one of the first people I ever interviewed for The Alternative, I think to be exact he was the 4th, and that makes it about 2013. At the time he was playing in White Wives, who put out some great records btw. Those recordings have long been lost too YouTube, but the point is, Chris is a punk vet and he shows his experience in his new band.

Nightmarathons is inspired by Hot Water Music and Piebald and they carry that earnest punk energy through this track. Check out the track “Waiting Room” produced by Chris #2 of Anti-Flag and feel the Pittsburgh punk flow through you. Their album Missing Parts is out soon on Chris’s own A-F Records and you can preorder it now on their store.

From Chris Stowe: “‘Waiting Room’ is about this pretty fucked up year in my life where my wife had a pretty epic health scare.  It’s crazy how fast you can get snapped out of your normal life and the things you take for granted by something as simple as a phone call, and all of a sudden you’re just in this waiting room purgatory.  The bridge to your normal life is right there…you can almost touch it…but there’s no way to get back to those people you were before you got that phone call. In a lot of ways, I’m extremely grateful for that reality check.  We were so lucky to have ended that year with some good news, but it’s a constant reminder to me of how fragile life is.  I can have a tendency as a person to kind of shut down and get stuck in my own thoughts and this taught me the lesson that I need to be present and grateful for every day that I have with the people that I love.”
