It seems so long ago that many cities erupted in protest following the 2016 election. It’s hard to believe it’s been less than a year when so much damage has already been done. Living in Trump’s America can often make it hard to appreciate what good we do have. More often than not, I find myself turning to music and the community built around it for a reminder of that good.

In Lubec’s latest single “Pioneer Snare”, named after Pioneer Square in Portland – where the heart of the protests in Portland were, brings together the darkness and the light. The song’s hectic nature lends itself well to the subject matter, and while dark undertones carry throughout the song, there is feeling of hope driving it, and we are left with the feeling that all is not lost. The single is off of their upcoming EP Dividends, out Friday. Listen below, and pre-order the EP from Disposable America  HERE.
