Pacific Nature releases “Start Thinking About Someone Else Vol. 2”

Alyx Poska is the mastermind behind Pacific Nature, a southern California based record label and DIY media collective. Even as I sit here in the far away land of Portland, OR I’m aware of the amazing work Alyx is putting in down there. Having been to one of the shows he’s put on, I’ve seen his commitment to DIY music and community and quite frankly I think Pacific Nature will be a big piece of making the west coast relevant in the larger national DIY community. Start Thinking About Someone Else was “conceived as an outlet for folks in band or otherwise orbiting around the DIY underground in Southern California to release music from secret, solo and side projects.”, and it surely has done just that. With it’s second volume being released today, the lineup is nothing short of star studded. Featured artists include Walter Etc. (of Walter Mitty and his Makeshift Orchestra), Benny (Hemingway), Jaake! (Get Married), Vaughn Sutterman (Casual Friday/Treeshaker/Karoshi Boy), Kiki Ruiz (The M3ows), and more. This release comes at a time when any and every reminder of the love and support in our community is greatly needed and appreciated. So take care of yourselves out there, take care of those around you, and “Start Thinking About Someone Else.”
